Build progress, features and walkthrough with James Turner

The Next Evolution of Vision Yachts. Built for More.
At 48 feet, the Vision 484 builds on the award-winning DNA of the 444, whilst offering increased volume, greater headroom, a larger payload, and bridgedeck clearance raised from 700 mm to 1,000 mm to cut slamming offshore. This new model is not an extension or a stretched version of the 444 — it is a completely new design from the keel up, with a new hull form, deck layout and interior arrangement.

01More Liveability, More Versatility
The step from 44 to 48 feet is significant: more spacious cabins, an enlarged saloon and galley, additional storage and broader workspaces, without losing the agile handling the range is known for. Headroom runs 2.1 m throughout, up to 2.2 m in key areas. There is new versatility too. The 484 is offered in three and four cabin layouts, opening it to owners who want more space for family and guests and for people who actually live on passage.
02The Structure Behind the 484
Beneath the 484’s extra space, the build philosophy remains unchanged. The hull, deck and bulkheads are constructed using epoxy infusion over a closed-cell foam core. Vision chooses epoxy because, unlike polyester structures, it does not require a barrier coat to be applied afterwards to keep water out. Protection goes further below the floorboards. Each hull is divided into 18 watertight compartments, while a two-stage crumple zone in each bow is engineered to absorb impact forces in the event of a collision.
03Designed Around Real-World Experience
The Vision 484 builds on the experience of Vision 444 owners and the combined knowledge of the Vision team. That experience informs practical details throughout the boat, such as the dedicated onboard workshop, direct access to engines and key systems for servicing without dismantling the interior, and deck hardware configured for short-handed sailing. The bowsprit includes dual tack lines, allowing a second downwind sail to be pre-rigged without making another trip forward. Systems are selected for accessibility, serviceability and ease of operation.
